FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Company successful by staying true to core values
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado February 20, 2007
Tucker
Safety Products, Inc., a leading provider of protective
apparel for foodservice and kitchen operations, celebrates
its 20th anniversary. The Colorado Springsbased company
was founded in 1986 to create high quality products while increasing
safety in professional cooking areas. The company
has been successful by focusing on safety, sanitation, savings,
services and customer satisfaction.
"At Tucker, we listen to the
customer and strive to find creative solutions to
meet every one of their needs," says Vincent Tucker, President
of Tucker Safety Products. "We provide the highest quality,
and most protective, safetyconscious products on the
market."
Tucker Safety
Products also helps customers address and solve specific
problems by customizing products not available anywhere else
in the market. "We'll do anything for our customers," says
Tucker.
Pioneer in Safety
Tucker is the first manufacturer
of oven mitts used in commercial foodservice to
receive NSF International (National Safety Foundation) protocol
certification. This protocol evaluates oven mitts for their
suitability for use in commercial foodservice establishments.
Requirements include liquid/steam penetration, heat resistance,
flame resistance, cleanability and durability.
In
another study, conducted in 1995 by American Research
Testing Laboratories (ARTL), Tucker's VaporGuard® was tested
against other materials commonly found in foodservice
products, such as vinyl and Neoprene. They were subjected to
conditions including ovenrange temperatures (400° F
or higher) and direct flame. When subjected to an
open flame for just 5 seconds, vinyl samples were
consumed almost immediately, leaving no test sample
from which toxic emissions could be analyzed. Testing
of vinyl was not performed by ARTL. These same conditions
caused the Neoprene to emit alarming levels of hydrogen
cyanide, sulfur oxide and hydrogen chloride. Twentyfour hours
of oven aging at 400° F
caused Neoprene to discolor and become brittle. Meanwhile,
Tucker's VaporGuard barrier sample produced "no
detectible" levels
of these toxic and potentially fatal gases.
Guided by Core Values
Tucker upholds the
following standards:
Safety Direct heat burns
account for only 16% of foodservice burn injuries.
Another 82% of injuries occur from boiling water, steam and
hot oil or grease. Tucker's products are designed to prevent
all types of burn injuries, as well as cutting injuries.
Sanitation Tucker's BurnGuard® Protective
Effective Apparel products work well wet or dry, and
are completely washable to eliminate cross contamination. These
products can withstand over 70 commercial launderings, and
have interchangeable liners to make cleaning even easier. Many
products by Tucker, including the KutGlove™ and VaporGuard™,
have various antimicrobial components built in. These components
either kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria, and are guaranteed
for the life of the product.
Savings Tucker's
BurnGuard Nomex® oven mitts are guaranteed to last a minimum
of ten times longer than cotton quilted mitts. Customers
who have purchased BurnGuard products have experienced
up to a 400% decrease in protective apparel costs.
Additionally, discounts and other benefits are often available
with insurance premiums.
Services A SafeStep Evaluation
and Injury Prevention Program is provided by Tucker,
often at no cost. This program educates foodservice operators
in effective methods of safety. In addition to this service,
Tucker also creates custom pieces for customers, based on special
sizing, color and design for proper heat insulation
or special kitchen requirements.
Satisfaction Tucker
stands behind every product, and backs each product
with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. To best serve its customers,
Tucker provides education on the correct product for each job.
